Teresa Freitas-Monteiro is an Assistant Professor at CERGE-EI and a research affiliate at the University of Copenhagen, Immigration Policy Lab (IPL) and the Rockwool Foundation Berlin (RFBerlin). Before joining CERGE-EI, she was a Postdoc at the Department of Economics of the University of Copenhagen. Teresa got her PhD in Economics from the Humboldt-University of Berlin and the Institute for Employment Research (IAB).Prior to her doctoral studies, Teresa worked at the Economic & Social Research Institute (ESRI) in Ireland, the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg, McKinsey & Company in Costa Rica, AM&A consultants in Portugal, and the Portuguese Central Bank. She holds a BSc in Economics from NOVA School of Business and Economics and MSc's in Applied Econometrics and Economics from ISEG and Tilburg University, respectively.
Research Orientation:
Migration economics, political economy, labour economics, and gender economics.
