CERGE-EI Anniversary

CERGE-EI is marking its 35th anniversary with a series of events throughout 2026 that reflect the institution’s character not only as a place of rigorous academic work, but also as a community where ideas are freely exchanged, curiosity is encouraged, and people support one another across roles and disciplines.

Under the tagline 35 Years of Ideas That Matter, the anniversary year will celebrate the institute’s role in integrating graduate teaching and frontier research in economics. Over three and a half decades, CERGE-EI has built a research record with publications in leading economics and policy-oriented journals, and educated generations of economists now working in universities, central banks, international organisations and the private sector. 

There will be several academic and community events marking the anniversary. A very special highlight of the anniversary year is the Gala on May 30, which will bring together faculty, alumni, students, and partners to honor decades of research, education, and engagement in economic science and policy. The list of events will be updated on an ongoing basis.
