Ideas that travel, mentors who lead

At CERGE-EI, students learn from economists contributing to major advances in the field. Our faculty—over 20 scholars from top institutions with joint appointments at Charles University and the Czech Academy of Sciences—publish in leading journals such as Econometrica, AER, and the Review of Economic Studies, and cover fields from macro, labor, development, theory, econometrics, behavioral economics or economic history. They win Europe’s most competitive research grants, including ERC grants and top international and national awards. Students learn from scholars who push the boundaries of economic research – and work directly alongside them.
