CERGE-EI Gala

Thank you to all the guests who joined us at Schebek Palace for the CERGE-EI Gala on May 30, celebrating our 35th anniversary. The evening brought together the CERGE-EI community, partners, supporters, and friends — people connected by a shared commitment to research and education.

               

We were honored to hear from CERGE-EI Director Marek Kapička; co-founders Jan Švejnar and Josef Zielenec; Professor Philippe Aghion through a video greeting; Professor Radomír Pánek, President of the Czech Academy of Sciences; and Professor Jiří Zima, Rector of Charles University.

The Gala also included the presentation of the Karel Engliš Honorary Medal for Merit in Social and Economic Sciences to Filip Matějka, a spotlight on the CERGE-EI Alumni Give Back campaign with CERGE-EI alumni David Vávra and Eva Hromádkova, live music by the Harmcore Jazz Band, and a special video mapping by Jiří Mirátský and Atisphere.

Most importantly, it was a celebration of the people at the heart of CERGE-EI: our faculty, researchers, students, alumni, and staff, who make this institution what it is: not only as a place of rigorous academic work, but also a community where ideas are exchanged and curiosity is encouraged.
