Mariola Pytliková has been an Assistant Professor at CERGE-EI (under U.S. permanent charter) since 2016; currently she is on academic leave. She has also been an Associate Professor at CERGE, Charles University, a Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and a Senior Researcher at the VSB Technical University Ostrava since October 2013. Previously a Senior Researcher at the Danish Institute of Governmental Research (KORA), an Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Researcher at Aarhus University, and a visiting lecturer at CERGE-EI. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from ASB, Aarhus University. In the past, she held visiting stays at Princeton University, the University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. She has been a research fellow at the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration (CReAM) at University College London, the Institute for Study of Labour (IZA) in Bonn, the Center for Corporate Performance (CCP) in Copenhagen, and the Central European Labour Studies Institute (CELSI) in Bratislava. She received The Dean’s Award for the best publication, Kateřina Šmídková’s Award for the best female economist, and the Young Economist Award from the Czech Economic Society.
