Application Process
1. Submit online application
- Start an online application by filling out your contact information and educational background. You can save your application and complete it later.
- Prepare the required materials to be uploaded to support your application:
- Motivation letter: download a sample form here
- Scan of the main page of your passport, with picture
- Scan of diploma(s) in the original language AND translated into English
- Scan of transcript(s) in the original language AND translated into English
- Contact details for 2 references, who will be emailed with a request for a recommendation after you submit the application
- Prepare optional materials to be uploaded to support your application:
- Fellowship application
- Financial aid request
- Scan of standardized score reports (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, GMAT)
2. Take the online math test and get interviewed by the program director
- The math test will take a maximum of 45 minutes and cover 5 questions. You will receive questions via email and do the test from your home. The required level of knowledge is BA-level algebra and calculus. If you would like to see a sample test, email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. - Your interview will be conducted either by Skype/telephone or in person. It will take approximately 20 minutes, and the discussion will concentrate on your background and motivation for study.
3. Obtain the admission decision and pay the deposit
- The decision of the admission committee will be delivered to you by email no later than three weeks after the application deadline (i.e. in December and in April). If you are offered admission to the MA in Applied Economics program, you will receive a specific tuition offer.
- If you have applied for a fellowship or financial aid, you will be informed about the fellowship decision and the final level of your tuition the same day as you receive the admissions decision.
- To accept the offer, you must make a non-refundable deposit of 1,000 USD (the sum is later deducted from your first tuition payment). The deadline for making the deposit is usually one month from the admission decision announcement.
