Women in Economics: Experiences and Challenges in Academia
We would like to invite you to a coffee chat titled "Women in Economics: Experiences and Challenges in Academia." The event will take place on Tuesday, November 10, from 10:00. The event is intended primarily for women pursuing research careers in economics, including PhD students, researchers, and faculty members.
What does it mean to build a research career in economics as a woman? In this informal coffee chat, four female academics with different career paths will speak candidly about the decisions, obstacles, and uncertainties they have encountered during the PhD and beyond. The conversation may touch on mentorship, professional networks, confidence and recognition, combining personal and professional priorities, and navigating environments in which women remain underrepresented. Most of the session will be devoted to an open discussion in which participants can ask questions, exchange experiences, and connect with one another.
