Demographic Headwinds in Central and Eastern Europe

CERGE-EI cordially invites you to a special presentation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on demographics in Central and Eastern Europe.

The populations of Central and Eastern European (CESEE) countries - with the exception of Turkey - are expected to decrease significantly over the next 30 years, driven by low or negative net birth rates and outward migration. These changes will have significant implications for growth, living standards and fiscal sustainability.

The IMF study will be presented by one of the authors, Andreas Tudyka, Economist IMF.

The event is organized in cooperation with the IDEA Think Tank researchers Daniel Munich and Filip Pertold, who will provide local feedback on presented data.

Date: October 23, 2019

Time: 10:00 AM

Venue: CERGE-EI, Politickych veznu 7, Prague 1, 111 21

The event will be conducted in English. Seats are limited, please fill out the short form to book your seat.
