Discovery Week for the Master’s in Applied Economics Program

14 September, 2018

Each year, newly admitted students on the Master’s in Applied Economics start their studies solving a real-life project within the Discovery Week.

This year, students will work for Maltese Aid, a charitable and humanitarian organization, on their project to find new volunteers and paid assistants for elderly people. The human-centered design method will be used once again (observing the problem within context, brainstorming, conceptualizing, developing, and implementing the solution).

The added value of this project is clear for the students themselves: besides applying their skills in real life, they will have a good chance to get to know each other. Coming from 9 different countries, with a diverse study background and experience, they will work quite closely during the next 10 intensive months.

We wish them good luck, and hope their insights will help the charity to boost their projects.
