Prof. Noam Chomsky at the Academy of Sciences

One of the most important scientists of today, Professor Avram Noam Chomsky from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, appeared on Monday, 2 June 2014 at the headquarters of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic with a lecture entitled “What Can We Understand?” On this occasion, he received the honorary medal “De scientia et humanitate optime meritis” from the President of the Academy of Sciences, Prof. Jiří Drahoš.

Professor Noam Chomsky is generally considered to be the most significant living linguist and is often credited as being the founder of modern linguistics.
